Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15 to October 15. Join us as we celebrate the art, cultures and heritage of our vibrant and diverse Latino Community!

Crafts and Foods for Hispanic Heritage Month
Thursdays, September 20 & 27, October 4 & 11, 3:00PM
Sept 20: Create your own mini piñata craft and learn about the origins of the pinata - not as simple as you might think!
Sept. 27: Make your own mango smoothie and learn more about Cuba.
Oct. 4: Make some Bocaditos de Leche -bite-sized milk truffle candies - and learn about Venezuela!
Oct. 11: Decorate skull-decorated sugar cookies that honor the Mexican tradition of Dia de los Muertos and learn about the Day of the Dead.

Story Time: Luchadores!
Tuesday, October 9, 6:30PM-7:30PM
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by listening to stories about lucha libre, the theatrical style of wrestling popular in Mexico. Enjoy stories like Niño Wrestles the World and Lucía the Luchadora. After the stories, make your own luchador mask!

Hispanic Heritage celebration: Traditional Latin American Arts & Crafts
Tuesdays & Thursdays, September 20, 27, October 9, 11, 3:30PM - 4:30PM
We are going to create paper maracas, Worry dolls, masks, paper flowers and other fun crafts. Vamos a crear maracas de papel, muñecas Worry, máscaras, flores de papel y otras manualidades divertidas.
Merengue, Mangulina, Salsa, Bachata Dance Demonstration and Food Fiesta Celebration!
Friday, October 12 3:00PM - 5:30PM
A special performance by “Grupo Arcoiris of Rhode Island” organized by Iris Yinette, of traditional music and dance from the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean. They perform different genres, such as "palos," "merengue,” "mangulina," "perico ripiao" and other rhythms. Light refreshments will be served! (All ages welcome)
