Don't Miss: Feria del Libro y las Artes de Providence
La Feria del Libro y las Artes de Providence, PCL's signature bilingual Spanish/English book and arts festival, will take place on Saturday, November 9 (10am-5pm) at Providence College. Activities include author appearances, book readings and signings, storytelling and creative writing workshops, cultural performances, art exhibits and short film screenings.

We are excited to announce that PCL cardholders now have access to Hoopla. Wherever you are, home or afar, borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows on your computer, tablet, phone or TV!
PCL library card holders who sign up for Hoopla will be able to check out 3 items per month.

Google Digital Skills Workshops
PCL has been selected to participate in Libraries Lead with Digital Skills, an initiative of the American Library Association (ALA) and the Public Library Association (PLA), sponsored by Grow with Google, the tech company’s economic opportunity initiative.
We will use the funding to hold 4 Google Digital Skills workshops at Smith Hill Library in September with refreshments & giveaways at each event!

2020 Census Recruitment Sessions at PCL
Job opportunity! The U.S. Census Bureau is aiming to hire close to 500,000 office and field staff nationally for the 2020 Census. The majority of those hires will be Census takers, or enumerators. Enumerators interview residents of households that have not responded via the online or paper forms to supply their Census information. These temporary staff serve as the last line of defense for getting an accurate count, which is critical for federal funding and fair political representation.
