FUNDA Fest Workshops in January - UPDATE

If it's January, it's time for FUNDA Fest, the annual, statewide festival of storytelling from the Rhode Island Black Storytellers (RIBS). FUNDA means to teach and learn in Zulu and KiSwahili. From January 26 - February 2, adults and children will be able to experience some of the best cultural arts programming across Rhode Island at venues that include schools, community and cultural arts centers, libraries and theatres.  

Black History Month Lecture Series Explores African Heritage Legacy in R.I.

PCL is proud to partner with Rhode Island Black Heritage Society to present The Collective Memory of Rhode Island Black History: From Enslavement to Freedom and Beyond. Presented by historian Keith Stokes, the free talks include a rich selection of associated images, objects and historical documents curated by one of America’s oldest African Heritage organizations.
