The book is described as follows:
"Rhode Island. A tiny little state with more stories than people. Farmers, violinists, firefighters, organizers, adjunct professors, landlords, internet entrepreneurs, administrators, cops, nurses, crooks, shop owners. Hopes and dreams, sicknesses, deaths and disappointments. Loves and heartbreaks. Some trying to repair the world. Others overwhelmed by the beauty of the world as it is. All in one place, becoming one people. What democracy looks like."
Michael Fine is a writer, community organizer, family physician, public health official and author of Health Care Revolt: How to Organize, Build a Health Care System, and Resuscitate Democracy – All at the Same Time; Abundance, a romantic thriller set in Rhode Island and in Liberia in the aftermath of the Liberian Civil Wars of 1989-2020; and The Bull and Other Stories, his first short story collection published in 2020.
