Knight Memorial Library is a long-established library serving the South Side of Providence, and it offers 12 adult and 8 children’s computers, WiFi, copy/fax/scan, a typewriter, and one staff member is a notary.
The library holds books for adults, teens and children in English and Spanish as well as a few books in French. The book collection in English is especially strong in early 20th century fiction. There is a significant Rhode Island history collection and cemetery records from the James N. Arnold collection. Knight Memorial offers hot spots, museum passes and a sizeable DVD collection. Some audio books on CD, and titles in streaming video and ebooks are also available.
The library building provides meeting space for community groups in three rooms that can accommodate 15, 40 and 75 attendees. Call the Reference Desk at 467-2625 to inquire about availability.

Regular programs for kids include Cradle to Crayons, Story times, Ready for K, Lego Guild, Homework Help, Teen Movie Night, Family Movie Night, Guitar lessons, and Drop-in Crafts. For adults, computer training, GED classes in Spanish and ESL classes are regularly offered. The Friends of Knight Memorial hold book sales on Tuesday and Thursday mornings 10:30 – 12:30 and often the first Saturday of the month, 12:00 – 4:00.
