Leland Baker is a jazz saxophonist, as well as a music educator; teaching privately, and leading his own project/ lecture series, Bridging Gaps. He lived and spent time honing his craft in the great cities of New Orleans and New York City. While living in New York City, Leland has had the opportunity to perform and study with many of the brilliant artists the city has to offer. Leland attended Loyola University in New Orleans, LA where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies. While in undergraduate school, he was fortunate enough to study saxophone with Tony Dagradi, Jason Mingledorff, John Ellis and George Garzone. Immersed in the creative and soulful spirit of New Orleans, Leland gained insight to the unequivocal beauty music can posses, which further inspired him to push forward in his musical endeavors. He later attended the University of Rhode Island where he earned a Master’s Degree in Music.
