INTO THE RABBIT HOLE is a five-week course for adults on creative research from the deep berry thicket of everyday weirdness. Our group of explorers will practice techniques for research that they don't necessarily teach you in school. This course will be especially useful for people on the verge of a new creative project or stuck or blocked in the middle of one. Into the Rabbit Hole is for any person with questions and curiosities about our world; no specific art or creative experience is necessary. You’ll go deep into (metaphorical) tunnels and brambles to emerge with arms full of juicy berries you didn’t even know existed!
Your guide, MJ Robinson, is an illustrator and multidisciplinary artist in the school of everyday weirdness (ew school). Their stories, drawings, and comics create portals into real and imagined worlds for kids of all ages. Lately, MJ is inspired by nature, local histories and futures, miniatures, folklore, and ghost stories. In their work as an educator and community organizer, MJ encourages playful creative visioning in movements for social justice—with a particular focus on racial and environmental justice, and LGBTQIA2S+ joy and well-being in Providence, RI and beyond. Follow their adventures at mj-robinson.com.
