Jessica David has 20 years of experience working at the intersection of people, place, and money. She delights in human connections, local places, problem-solving, and Bruce Springsteen.

Jessica is the founding president of Local Return, a new nonprofit organization dedicated to building community wealth and resilience, particularly in neighborhoods that have experienced historical disinvestment. As founder and principal of Good Worth Working For, a community consultancy, she supports organizations and leaders on strategy and change processes, program design, large and small convenings, and culture-building. Previously, Jessica served as Executive Vice President of Strategy & Community Investments at the Rhode Island Foundation.

In The Power of Ritual, Casper ter Kuile, a Harvard Divinity School fellow and the co-founder of the Sacred Design Lab, explores how we can nourish our souls by transforming common, everyday practices—yoga, reading, walking the dog—into sacred rituals that can heal our crisis of social isolation and struggle to find purpose—a message we need more than ever for our spiritual and emotional well-being in the age of COVID-19. John Green generously described the book as, “Essential reading for anyone interested in how to find meaning in our strange, new world. Bursting with wisdom and compassion, this is the rare book that really might change your life. It has certainly changed mine.”
