Pilates Mat Class

Regular classes will take place at 10 am the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month starting December 17.

Some benefits of Pilates: Gain strength, increase mobility, improve your flexibility and posture.  You develop a mind-body connection, which is important for both mental and physical health.  Join Ana for a Pilates Mat workout on December 17 and on the first and third Saturday’s of the month starting in January, 10 to 11am.  Bring your mat and arrive 10-15 minutes early to get settled.

Since 2011, Ana Almeida-DoRosario has held a Group Fitness Instructor certificate from the American Council on Exercise (ACE).  She also earned her Health Coach certification from ACE in January 2019. Ana teaches circuit training style fitness classes, including classes focused on diabetes prevention and management. She has designed workouts and workshops focused on strength training for women.  As the Community Outreach Coordinator at the Lifespan Community Health Institute, part of her role is to coordinate the Diabetes Prevention Program, a lifestyle change program for those wishing to prevent or delay the onset of diabetes. As an apprentice she is currently working towards her Pilates Mat certification with Pilates Unlimited, an institution that offers Pilates instruction and continual education for those who wish to teach Pilates.  Ana first became hooked on Pilates when she tried it to alleviate her own back pain from a childhood injury.  She also noticed how it improved her own strength and especially her flexibility in a way that other forms of exercise had not.  Ana’s goal is to inspire and support people to have strength, health, and energy for life!
