Learn how to start and care for seedlings and transplants indoors from a URI Master Gardener at Mount Pleasant Library.
Starting vegetable plants from seed allows you to choose from a much wider selection of plants and plant varieties than you can find from nursery suppliers. Some plants need to start indoors in order to produce fruit in our short growing season. Others benefit from an indoor start to produce earlier or to establish themselves before being moved to the garden. In this talk we'll orient you to the basics of indoor seed starting including methods, timing, and daily care. A short demonstration will give you a visual sense of how to start and care for seedlings and transplants indoors. We'll also provide a resource sheet to help you find the information you may need along the way.
